I Answer Your 10 Most Burning Questions On Makeup!!

Let's try something different in this blog. Here are 10 makeup questions I'll be answering in this blog.

How can I make my makeup last all day?

My advice to have makeup to last all day long is to have a good skin care routine, but also wear a primer before applying your foundation. Make sure your skincare products and primer don't have any ingredients that would affect your makeup. So if you're doing a water-based foundation, make sure your primer and skin care aren't oil-based. Using both would disrupt your foundation, causing it to peel off or separate. For mascara, use a waterproof foundation, and for lips, use a liquid lipstick or lip tint to add some colour. Remember to always set your products, so if you're using gel liner, set it with eye shadow. For liquid blush, set with a powder blush, etc.

What's the difference between BB cream, CC cream, and foundation?

BB Cream is more of a mixer of foundation and concealer, etc. CC Cream is more of a concealer and colour corrector and foundation is full coverage or light cover product designed to cover any flaws like redness giving you a even base to work on.

How do I find the right foundation shade for my skin tone?

There is many ways you could test swatches on your cheek going down your neck or behind your ear. But first you need to find your undertone if your warm (pink) or neutral (both pink and yellow) or cool (yellow) but you can also be olive common among European people from places like Italy, Malta, and Greece. Let me know if you want some information on this topic, and I'll do a separate post.

What are the best tips for applying makeup on mature skin?

For mature skin a illuminating primer followed by a light coverage foundation such as mac face and body foundation or even a bb cream which you can mix your own favorite matte foundation into some face cream. You want to use matte eye shadow and black mascara and eyeliner is your best friend for older people since black is seen as youthful. What do young kids have? Black eyelashes. Remember less is more when it comes to eyeliner. For lips I would stay away from liquid lipsticks since it will settle in fine lines, try a lipstick with a gloss or a tint.

How do I achieve a natural, no-makeup makeup look?

Keep it simple. Concealer, a small amount of liner, mascara, brow pencil, natural lipstick or lip gloss and if you need more coverage, try a light foundation. Set into place with a translucent powder.

Is it okay to wear makeup every day?

Absolutely, but make sure you have a good product to remove makeup from your face. Don't rely solely on makeup wipes as they don't remove all the foundation and etc from your skin.

What’s the best order to apply makeup products?

I'll list them in order: skincare products, primer, foundation, concealer, eye primer, lip primer, then apply your other products like brow pencil or brow pomade, eye shadow, etc. Leave mascara once you've set your face.

How do I prevent my concealer from creasing?

Depends on what products you've used before, like skincare or primer, and whether your concealer will move. Water doesn't like oil, so the product will move and separate. You could be applying too much to your face, too. The best thing to do is put a small amount of concealer and blend it out with a brush, then set it quickly with powder before it creases.

What are the must-have products for a beginner makeup kit?

That depends on whether you're a makeup artist or just want a kit for yourself. My best bet is to buy palettes until you can afford to buy foundations individually. Some makeup artist frown on that, but I think it's okay as long as you have your products and they're clean, you shouldn't have any issues. Want a post on this comment below.

How do I clean my makeup brushes and how often?

If your a makeup artist every time you do someones face. For personal use I would say clean them once a week. You can buy cleaning products from places like crown cosmetics, or even morphe.

Welcome to My Little Corner On the Internet!!!

I don't know how to start this blog, but here goes nothing.

My name is Amanda and I live in a small town in Australia. I'm a makeup artist and hairdresser student, who is also upgrading my makeup skills by doing my diploma in makeup artistry. As long as I can remember, since I was 18, I wanted to work in beauty, but back then, blogs were popular and online courses didn't exist. Now, everyone is spoiled with the option of online or in-person courses. I've been doing beauty on and off since 2016, when I completed my certificate in makeup. It was my first ever online course besides my business course, which I also completed that year.

I made my social media page on Facebook and was anxiously waiting to do people's makeup. Unfortunately, I live in a small town, and that comes with people with small minds. I got ridiculed and attacked online for having a beauty business. I even had someone trying to bash me over doing makeup and accused me of copying them, even though I had them blocked and had no way of seeing their personal Facebook account. People are crazy, and jealousy brings out the ugliness. I have even coped with it while studying hairdressing, now accused of fraud and being a scam. The bitterness and small-minded people come out from under their rocks to start crap online and to spread lies around town. This has made getting work in my town very difficult, but I am grateful for the people who live outside my town who give me a chance. I just need to get motivated to do my work now. I am not going to lie, the rumours going around and attacks online have gotten me down simply because they've come from a 50-year-old woman, who I won't name, that is nearly 60 years old, who should know better and be setting a better example to her kids and grand-kids. So why would I start a blog and open myself to more criticism and attacks? Because I need somewhere I can share my knowledge and express myself. Plus, I think having a blog will motivate me more to do my hair course.

Who am I?

I am 5"3 and I am an Aquarius. I don't like sports, but I don't mind the gym, even though I get bored easily and would rather be out kayaking down the river. Before I lived in a small town in rural NSW, I lived in Sydney, not far from Liverpool. I was there until year 10 before I moved due to my dad retiring from the army. I continued my education in my town and suffered from bullying and racism from kids in my year. Accused of being a wog and etc. I turned to my ability to draw during those years, so you can imagine I am quite an artistic and creative person. See, I have been drawing cartoon characters from images the size of stamps into A3-sized artwork. I wanted to work for Disney, but I found my passion for beauty back in year 6 when I befriended a girl who let me put her makeup on, and I was hooked. Loved it so much that I would wear a full face of makeup to school and wear it whenever I could. I loved it, and I was pretty good with an art brush and eye shadow palette. Back then, we didn't have makeup brushes or beauty blenders, but we did have our hands and wedge sponges to put foundation on with. Things were simpler then. Everyone is soooooooooooo spoiled today with YouTube tutorials and makeup brushes.

So what am I hoping to bring to this blog?

Uh, besides accountability to my studying, I would say a mix of everything tutorials, makeup, beauty products, lifestyle, tips and tricks, and so much more.  If you managed to read this post, please tell me three things about you!

Thank You

xx
